NEXUS Firearms and Safety Training was established to provide the best quality firearms instruction, training, and service to Northern Nevada. We currently have USCCA Certified Instructors who are also approved in NV to teach Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) certification training and licensed by Private Investigators Licensing Board (PILB) to conduct the armed security guard firearms training. Nexus is bringing a diverse and dynamic experience to instructing firearms and safety.

NexusFST was formed out of a passion for training and education. Our goal is to foster relationships in the community through attentive, relevant, and quality firearms and safety training.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR

Monty Genegabus served 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, honorably retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant. Throughout his career, he served in support and within the reconnaissance communities. His final posting was a plank owner of the USMC’s initial force contribution to U.S. Special Operations Command. Marine Corps Special Operations Command Detachment One (Det One). He was honored, towards the end of his two decades of service, to be the U.S. Marine Corps annual awardee of the National Defense Industry Association (NDIA) Special Operation Low-Intensity Conflict (SOLIC) achievement award for his career contributions. After retiring, Monty served in multiple positions providing instruction, mentorship, safety, and security in the public and private sectors. Some of those assignments include multiple positions as an Executive Protection (EP) agent, Armed Forces Joint Service live fire range safety specialist. U.S. Department of State security cleared Firearms and Tactics Instructor, for a decade. Served as Security Manager for a high net worth Executive, and the Director of Training and EP manager for a California private security provider. Monty has called Washoe County his home since his retirement from the USMC and has decided, with considerable coaxing of friends and family, to bring his worldwide experience home.
